Description If you are a postgraduate or undergraduate student with strong interpersonal skills who would like to help other students with their IT requirements, then a job in the Smart Bar team at this year’s start of session (with the option to join for the rest of the academic year) could be just the opportunity for you Start date: 09/25 exact date to be confirmed with the candidates after interviews End date: 26/06/26 Working hours: viable, up to 20 hours week over arrival weekend, but typically 3 to 7 hours weekly Pay rate: 12.50 per hour plus holiday pay Location: multiple Smart Bar location over all UoN UK Campuses dress code: casual, a uniform t-shirt will be provided The duties will include: Following comprehensive training, you’ll become a Smart Bar Assistant ready to offer support to other students on a range of IT services, including, connecting to the Wi-Fi, Registration (Nottingham Hub), Microsoft 365, using the university online services (Portal, Remote Desktop), printing documents, etc. Skills and experiences required for the role Excellent interpersonal communication skills Excellent written and verbal English language skills Excellent customer service skills and experience of team working Knowledge of using Windows and macOS (desirable) Knowledge of using latest smart phones and apps IT literate and familiar with a wide range of IT services offered by the university, including Microsoft Teams Excellent timekeeping and ability to work within frameworks and procedures Registered as a student at the University of Nottingham for the duration of the programme Application Instructions: Application Deadline: 18th May 2025 In your covering letter, please answer the below 6 questions: Will you be a registered student during September and October, 2025?
