EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As a large FTSE100 organization, effective cyber security and resilience are vital for maintaining customer, employee, regulatory, and shareholder confidence and ensuring the safe conduct of our business operations.
As a Senior Security Architect, you will play an integral part in defining and assessing Severn Trent’s security strategy, architecture, and practices. You will lead a team of security architects and partner with business and technical teams, with the prime function of effectively translating business objectives and risk management strategies into solutions enabled by technologies and processes.
In this newly created role, you will report directly to the Enterprise Security Architect (ESA) and will be required to deputize at stated times.
This is a diverse and challenging role that will require substantial people, stakeholder, and technical skills, as well as the ability to work under considerable pressure in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key Accountabilities:
* Develop and maintain security solutions that enable the enterprise to implement effective security services and capabilities aligned with business, technology, and threat drivers.
* Develop and maintain security architecture and secure-by-design artefacts and standards that can be leveraged in projects and operations.
* Serve as the primary liaison between the enterprise security architect and the security architects, coordinating with system owners, project managers, delivery teams, and wider business stakeholders on the planning and management of security architecture engagements and deliverables.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We’re looking for you to have strong strategic planning and communication skills to develop practical security solutions, evaluate the financial costs of recommended technologies, and translate complex security-related matters into business terms that are readily understood by colleagues.
Experience in using architecture methodologies such as SABSA, Zachman, and/or TOGAF is essential.
Experience in information security management systems and a working knowledge of methodologies to conduct risk assessments and threat-modeling exercises on applications and services are also desired. Experience in securing the deployment of applications and infrastructure into cloud services and designing IAM technologies would be massively beneficial.
