DEPARTMENT SUMMARY The Visa Facilities department is responsible for managing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities. This function plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labour, materials and other related costs. The facilities function designs organisational policies relevant to the facilities department and develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes. JOB SCOPE To carry out monitoring and inspection of critical plant areas, essential for site operation. Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Repairs on both Mechanical and Electrical systems and equipment as a member of the on-site facilities team at Visa in Basingstoke. This is an individual contributor role responsible for solving complex problems and taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. This role serves as a technical/functional specialist and works independently with guidance only in the most complex situations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The facilities engineer is responsible for installation and maintenance of environmental systems to include, but not limited to: Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Fire Detection and suppression systems, Building Management System (BMS) for energy and environmental controls, and emergency backup systems. Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance & Reactive incidents are carried out on all Critical Data Centre assets through operation of the Planned Preventative Maintenance System. Ensure that accurate and comprehensive records are kept pertaining to Health & Safety, Building Compliance and Quality Assurance. Ensure that sub-contractors perform to meet the requirement of the contract. Administer sub-contractor work approvals and safe operation while repair or service is carried out on site. To operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with Health & Safety policy Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times. Submit change requests and incident tickets and track progress to completion of works. Liaise directly with Change Management Act as facilities representative on projects and serve as a liaison between Facilities and internal and external contacts as it pertains to the Data Centre. Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant. Overview the buildings environmental conditions using the BMS System and utilise same to maintain acceptable internal conditions. Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared, reviewed and utilised for all tasks (PPM’s and reactive) carried out to ensure safe working practices. To maintain & develop good client relationships. Ensure the provision of a Safe & Healthy working environment. Ensure a professional image of Visa is presented to clients and visitors. Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate, including the utilisation of the shift engineers to ensure the task is suitably completed. Ensure an awareness and compliance to KPI’s/SLA’s. Ensure the CAFM system, e.g. Asset Essentials is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured. Operate critical infrastructure in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures Act as Authorised Person for LV and carry out switching as required Be able to work effectively when under pressure Drive continuous improvement in operations, cost, and quality performance. Analyse data and identify trends with facility issues to determine root cause and take appropriate action. Any other task as directed by the facilities management team. This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
