The post holder will provide practical help and organisation to facilitate the day to day running of the ward/unit. They will work as an integral part of the clinical team to compliment the delivery of patient care. They will undertake a range of duties associated with the upkeep of the clinical equipment and environment to meet the requirements of the trust and National Specification for cleanliness in the NHS
• Monitor the ward environment
• Track and monitor equipment sent for repair. Co-ordinate any repairs by liaising with the estates department and to take follow up action as necessary to ensure that tasks are completed.
• Ensure the store area is clean and tidy at all times, e.g. remove unnecessary clutter, keep notice boards tidy and up to date ensuring all notices are laminated in compliance with infection prevention and control policies.
• To communicate clearly in both written and verbally with members of the multi-professional team, patients and relatives.
• To promptly manage telephone messages and ensure relevant personnel are informed.
• To maintain up to date knowledge of the Trusts policies and procedures and to attend the required mandatory training. · Liaise with clinical team and report any faults as appropriate.
• Support the management of the ward linen and laundry supply
• To assist the Midwifery support workers in keeping the area stocked with equipment.
• Work with material management to ensure correct stock levels maintained and that stock is correctly unpacked, stored, rotated and maintained.
• Order non-stock items.
