Kier Construction have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer with a strong knowledge base of large scale Temporary Works to join one of our major schemes in Glasgow. Working on our HMP Glasgow project the Project Engineer will take a key role in overseeing packages from design development, through on site delivery and onto decommissioning throughout the entire project lifecycle. This role presents a great opportunity to be involved in a long term high value scheme near Glasgow.

What will you be responsible for?
The Project Engineer will take a key role in ensuring that a broad range of temporary works packages are delivered safely and in adherence to BS5975. Working with the site project teams and design partners. The project engineer will work closely with the Civils Project Manager to ensure the timely and accurate flow of information between stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient delivery of all packages.
Your day to day will include:
Ensure adherence to BS5975 and Kier Group Temporary Works (TW) Management Procedures.
Coordinate and manage all Temporary Works activities, ensuring that a detailed design brief is produced and aligns with the site's actual conditions.
Offer guidance to permanent works designers regarding temporary conditions and loads.
Facilitate independent design checks assessing concept, structural integrity, and compliance where necessary, assessing the competencies of external designers and design checkers.
Keep TW documentation updated within the site management systems, ensuring that all relevant parties are briefed on design specifics, risks, and constraints.
Oversee alterations in materials or construction methods, maintaining alignment with the approved design and issue permit to load as required and perform regular inspections
What are we looking for?
This role of Temporary Works Coordinator is great for you if you:
Hold a qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum HND/HNC, preferably BEng or higher).
Have worked on large high value schemes with significant civil and structural packages
Can demonstrate experience working as TWC, Project Engineer, Civils Manager on high value build or infrastructure programmes
Hold SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid Certifications
Hold full UK Driving License
