Position: Senior Biomedical Scientist Quality Lead
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours, with weekend rota participation
Location: London NW1

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Biomedical Scientist Quality Lead to join a leading medical diagnostics company. This company is committed to advancing healthcare diagnostics with a focus on laboratory medicine, pathology, imaging, and more. As a Senior BMS Quality Lead, you will oversee laboratory operations and ensure the highest standards of quality management and regulatory compliance within the histology lab.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all aspects of laboratory processes, including specimen handling, slide preparation, and staining to ensure optimal workflow and performance
2. Design, implement, and manage quality assurance programs to monitor and improve laboratory performance
3. Lead audits and inspections to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements
4. Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and maintain high-quality standards
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, update, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for consistency and compliance
6. Provide expert guidance on histology techniques and best practices, ensuring staff are well-equipped for success
7. Mentor and train laboratory staff on quality management principles and technical advancements
8. Regularly assess quality metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions
9. Evaluate and validate new technologies and equipment to ensure state-of-the-art laboratory practices
10. Drive continuous improvements in laboratory quality and operational efficiency
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field
2. At least 5 years of experience in histology laboratory operations, with a strong focus on quality management
3. Expertise in histology laboratory techniques and quality assurance processes
4. Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and industry standards relevant to histology operations
5. Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor teams
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
7. High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
9. Fluency in English
10. Strong communication skills, able to engage and lead cross-functional teams
