The Role
We are looking to appoint a Seclusion Room Lead in Behaviour to work within and be responsible for the provision within our internal seclusion. The purpose of the role is to support a range of students who find mainstream lessons challenging and to ensure they access a high-quality education away from their usual lessons, alongside supporting the leadership both within the behaviour unit and across the wider school. The successful candidate will join an experienced, supportive, committed team of like-minded colleagues and make a real difference with our young people. This post holds the responsibility for ensuring the highest standards of behaviour are adhered to consistently and colleagues are supported to do the same. The post also holds responsibility for the deployment of staff at social times and the school-wide duty rota. The role also includes working with identified students and preparing one-to-one or group intervention to provide coping strategies and learning within school.
The successful applicant will be a role model, listener, facilitator for learning, and a motivator. You may have previous experience as a teaching assistant, workshop leader or youth worker, or may have a background in the Army, youth offending service, or teaching and youth sector.
The team is well-established and highly supportive of one another. Led by a Behaviour & Inclusion Manager and supported by a member of the Senior Leadership Team, colleagues work collaboratively, always putting the needs of our students at the forefront of what we do. We would love to show you round our academy.
Training will be provided along with an induction to support your transition into the role. Strong personal qualities such as confidence, integrity and presence are sought in addition to good functional ICT skills. Consistent and effective communication are required together with the ability to use your own initiative.
We offer:
· Salary commensurate to your experience
· A strong and ongoing CPD program
· Opportunities for career development and progression
· Support staff pension scheme
· Use of the onsite gym
· A Senior Team that are keen to drive school improvement and are open to innovation and creative thinking
· A strong commitment to staff wellbeing
