Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work within a busy HR team, providing expert HR advice and guidance to Schools in a thriving London borough?
Ealing Council have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Consultant to join our Schools team on a full time, 35 hour per week, hybrid basis. You will work from Perceval House 2 days a week as well as travelling to meetings at Schools and when required while managing your caseload.
Joining a dedicated team, the ideal candidate will have a strong commercial focus alongside experience of internal HR consultancy or business partnering in a unionised school or education environment. Your knowledge and skills will command credibility with our key stakeholders.
Day to day as a HR Consultant for Schools you will:
1. Lead and contribute to projects and tasks requiring a people management input
2. Attend and contribute to meetings of school senior leadership teams and governing bodies as required
3. Nurture and maintain effective employee relations through consultation and negotiation with employers, employees and trade union/professional association/workplace representatives
4. Work with service partners, e.g. Ealing Learning Partnership (ELP), to contribute to the maintenance and achievement of the highest possible standards in schools and provide support when schools that buy into the HR service require Local Authority (LA) intervention
5. Coach, mentor and support headteachers, governors and senior managers on HR best practice in order to improve people management practices and facilitate the management of a high performing workforce
6. You must hold MCIPD or equivalent professional qualification in HR or appropriate relevant HR experience in a complex organisation
This role is subject to enhanced vetting check.
