The Role
We are looking for a self-motivated, reliable, polite person to head our Maintenance Department. The maintenance in question is on our thousands of young Cricket Bat Willow trees planted all over the country, this involves trimming small branches and shoots leaving a clean main stems section and clearing any dead wood from the canopy as they grow. This process means that the trees are in peak condition and value when they’re ready for felling.
From Spring to Autumn the role will involve walking/driving on our client’s land sometimes through dense vegetation and occasionally in adverse weather conditions. This is a customer facing role liaising, arranging and scheduling the CBW maintenance while keeping clients informed.
Due to the spread of our sites, there will be a regular need to stay away, potentially for the whole week, this will require discipline, initiative and common sense. In winter there will be sapling harvesting, trimming, planting and nursery bed expansion and maintenance.
Activities include:
* Tree maintenance with the use of secateurs, pole silky saws and knives
* Accurate recording of on site data and maintenance schedule plans
* Tree planting
* Harvesting of young trees from nurseries and trimming them ready for planting
* Use of a quad bike (training provided)
* Chainsaw use (training provided, but already trained is desired)
* Notifying clients of the schedule and any changes as well as access requirements.
* Driving a pickup truck, sometimes offroad and towing long trailers.
* Assisting yard personnel in the milling operation and yard maintenance.
Benefits:
* Competitive Salary
* Bonus opportunity
* Company Pension
* Opportunity to travel the country and work on some of the most stunning landscapes in the UK
