The Deal Execution team is part of KPMG’s Strategy Group, delivering value by challenging thinking, bringing industry insights, and executing with rigor. We are a diverse team of over 105 practitioners, working collaboratively across our Advisory business to enhance value for clients throughout the deal and economic cycle. Our specialists assist clients from conceptual thinking of acquisitions to turning around businesses in difficulty.
The M&A Centre of Excellence focuses on all aspects of the employee journey in M&A, including organizational design, synergy analysis, employee experience, and transformational change outside of deals. We develop solutions to client issues, understanding financial impacts from a people perspective, and aim to execute transactions and change efficiently, maximizing value and ensuring smooth transitions.
The Manager role is central to project leadership and delivery, working with global organizations across sectors, with opportunities to specialize.
Our four key client proposition areas are:
* Employee experience: Executing engagement programs to address the impact on employees, ensuring they would join the company independently of the deal.
* Organizational strategy development: Designing organizations, people strategies, operating models, and value enhancements for carve-outs or standalone operations.
* Labour relations and compliance: Managing HR risks and obligations globally to meet deal timelines and integration plans.
* HR operations: Delivering HR services efficiently during and after the deal to provide high service levels to employees.
Role Overview:
You will lead projects, working closely with senior team members to build your deal knowledge and develop your HR, OD, and strategy skills, while leveraging your change management expertise to deliver transformational change.
Your responsibilities include:
* Leading small-to-medium engagements and supporting clients daily
* Contributing to and reviewing deal reports from a people perspective
* Analyzing data related to costs, people, legal issues, systems, and contracts
* Providing insights on people aspects affecting business strategy and valuation
* Developing benchmarks and qualitative insights for clients
* Advising on organizational design, transition plans, and synergies
* Leading HR/OD workstreams in integrations and separations
* Facilitating client workshops and designing materials
* Supporting transformational change projects with roadmaps, risk mitigation, and success metrics
* Engaging with stakeholders, coaching team members, and supporting business development
The Person:
Work Experience:
* Understanding of HR, OD, or Strategy in an M&A environment
* Experience in M&A projects and consultation
* Specialist knowledge in areas like TUPE, HR functions, employee engagement, etc., with depth in one area being sufficient
* Leading client meetings and workshops
* Team leadership and influence skills
* Experience in developing business pitches
* Ability to influence senior stakeholders
Professional, Technical & Soft Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree; professional qualifications preferred
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Structured and creative thinking
