The Post
We are seeking to appoint an experienced paramedic practitioner/educator who is committed to contributing to the university’s excellence in teaching and learning. We welcome applications from experienced paramedics who are keen to develop their role as educators, having developed teaching and assessing skills through a practice assessor or equivalent role. The School would also consider part-time working and/or secondments from staff employed in the ambulance service.
This opportunity is open to paramedics with broad practitioner experience and/or teaching experience in a higher education institute who are registered with the HCPC. As a lecturer, you will play a key role in facilitating teaching and learning, as well as research and knowledge exchange across our Paramedic Science provision, providing an excellent student experience in a variety of formats where diversity, inclusivity, and equality are celebrated. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player, and in return, we will support you through continued professional development.
The Person
You will have a passion for education, thrive on seeing students succeed, have ambition, and possess an inquiring mind. You will have the opportunity to complete a PGCHE and progress through our GOLD framework to achieve HEA senior fellowship, as well as contribute to faculty-wide research and knowledge exchange activities. Opportunities may also exist to undertake doctoral studies through a professional doctorate or PhD programme. The University has an established career framework offering opportunities for promotion through an annual application process.
