Job Description
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for electrical maintenance, controls troubleshooting, and administrative tasks related to the electrical and maintenance operations. This role collaborates with various team members to ensure the optimal performance of the plant's electrical and mechanical infrastructure, contributing to efficient processing and minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand or power tools.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components using test equipment to locate and resolve breakdowns.
* Connect electrical wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, and other essential components.
* Inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, or necessary repairs, ensuring compliance with relevant safety codes and regulations.
* Perform ongoing maintenance and repair of electrical systems across the facility.
* Troubleshoot electrical issues, including PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.
* Maintain and troubleshoot PLC systems, with preference for Siemens PLC experience.
* Interpret mechanical plans and wiring diagrams to complete projects efficiently.
* Ensure adherence to project timelines and procedural requirements.
* Oversee and maintain general housekeeping in the work area.
* Assist and coordinate with external contractors working on assigned projects.
* Operate independently under limited supervision.
* Review and interpret controls documentation and installation plans.
* Communicate electrical and mechanical issues to the Electrical Department Supervisor and provide recommendations for resolution.
* Follow all safety protocols and established work procedures.
Requirements:
* High school diploma required; a degree in a related field is highly preferred.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience working with industrial electrical systems.
* Education or experience in servicing PLC systems, with Siemens PLC experience preferred.
