About the job?
Reporting to The Head of Continuous Improvement, you will be responsible for the delivery of Lean maintenance initiatives to include implementation of Lean projects whilst driving key process improvement, continuously reviewing current engineering practices to enhance productivity & efficiency to deliver agreed KPIs.
Your main responsibilities will be:
* Leadership and direction to the senior engineering team in relation to the continuous improvement methodology and under-pinning Lean maintenance principles.
* Development, implementation and delivery of change programmes and a variety of business process improvement projects.
* Develop relationships with Depot and Fleet Managers and stakeholders to facilitate culture change within the GWR engineering function.
* Support the engineering team to ensure that rolling stock vehicles and depot plant and equipment are maintained and cleaned safely within timescales, cost and quality specifications.
* Carry out at least 1 Be Safe contact safety conversation per period across Great Western engineering depots.
* Support projects and assignments as directed by the Head of Continuous Improvement.
You'll need to be:
You must be able to work as part of a team and possess good communication skills and be confident in your ability in demonstrating successful Lean/Continuous Improvement successes.
As a minimum, you will need to have:
The successful applicant will need to have minimum 6 Sigma Green Belt qualification. Lean/Continuous Improvement experience and knowledge. Be able to work on their own and as part of the Continuous Improvement team. Demonstrate effective project management knowledge.

Working Pattern?
Days 37.5 hours. Some flexible working may be required
