The main role of our Press Operators is to control the process of producing a basic can, from a slug of aluminium through to the washing and internal lacquering process, ensuring that the can meets customer requirements.
1. To observe company environmental, health and safety regulations at all times.
2. To comply with BRC requirements at all times.
3. To set, run and clean the press, cutting, brushing, washing spray units and the internal lacquer ovens.
4. To ensure the above machines are monitored at all times.
5. To accurately record all production data in the required format at the required interval.
6. To carry out operator maintenance of these machines according to Shift Managers instructions.
7. To follow company procedures regarding tooling preparation, care and reporting.
8. To inform Shift Manager of any actual or potential problems and agree a plan to solve them.
9. To isolate any non-conforming product.
10. To hand over to the on-coming Operative and inform him/her of the state of the line.
11. To remove all waste to the correct bins and maintain a clean and tidy work place.
12. To maintain accurate records according to Ball Aerosol Packaging requirements.
13. To adhere to ISO 9001 requirements.
14. To constantly look for opportunities to improve the process or product.
This role is working a rotating shift pattern which includes days, nights and weekends. The shift pattern is a Panama Shift as shown below. The hours are 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am with 4 weeks on days and 4 weeks on nights.
Starting Salary £27k - £29k plus 22.5% shift premium depending on experience.
