Full job description
Overseeing day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities.
1. Functional management of all clinical & administrative staff.
2. Direct line management of staff.
3. Managing the recruitment process.
4. Establishing, reviewing & regularly updating Job Descriptions and Person Specifications.
5. Managing contracts for services i.e. cleaning, gardening etc.
6. Leading change & continuous improvement initiatives.
7. Coordinating the reviewing & updating of all practice policies & procedures.
8. Developing, implementing & embedding an efficient business resilience plan.
9. Managing the financial elements of the practice.
10. Ensuring the team reach QOF targets.
11. Coordinating the practice diary, ensuring meetings are scheduled appropriately.
12. Liaising at external meetings as required.
13. Producing practice newsletters on a quarterly basis.
14. Managing the Patient Participation Group.
15. Managing all complaints effectively.
16. Ensuring compliance with legislation & dealing with disciplinary issues accordingly.
17. Managing the premises, including health and safety aspects such as risk assessments & mandatory training.
18. Managing the practice IT system, delegating staff to act as administrators.
19. Ensuring compliance with IT security & IG.
20. Coordinating all projects within the practice.
21. Maintaining the practice website.
22. Deputising for the GP at internal & external meetings.
23. Acting as the primary point of contact for NHS(E), ICB, community services, suppliers & other external stakeholders.
