Our client is a large international pension fund who are growing in the London office and are looking for a bright and intellectually curious individual to join as an external equities analyst.
The successful candidate will be required to support the Head of Research in undertaking research and providing input into the firm’s externally managed equities asset class strategies.
The role requires a high degree of direct collaboration and to work closely with the broader External Equities team (who are based outside of the UK).
The successful individual will recommend new and replacement external managers, whilst ensuring that research conducted across managers, strategies and investment ideas are both relevant and effective for the External Equities portfolio to achieve their objectives.
The role involves significant interaction with external stakeholders including investment managers, service providers, and industry peers to undertake research, capture insights and build networks.
Communicating insights to the broader Investment team on the latest investment opportunities, as well as regular updates on key macro and market views from undertaking research and attending manager meetings and industry events is also a key part of the role.
To apply for the position candidates should have:
* Some experience within asset management. Candidates from a performance background, investment support or Equity analysis background would be of interest for the position,
* Experience in Excel. Bloomberg would be useful
* Strong communication skills and the ability to network.
* A strong interest in macro economics and a keen interest in how markets work.
* An interest in undertaking the CFA.
