You will join us as a Level 6 Supply Chain Apprentice. You will combine academic university studies with real life work-based experience over a 4-year program, leading to a BSc in Supply Chain Management from Aston University.
This role can be based at our largest manufacturing depot in Derby.
As a Supply Chain Apprentice with Alstom, you will gain solid practical experience across a range of disciplines, including Warehouse operation, Production Planning, and Material Procurement. At the heart of the business, you will be in contact with a wide range of people including suppliers, customers, and internal departments and will be a key part in maintaining service levels whilst improving efficiencies and balancing costs.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Participate in Company Initiatives, in particular to be engaged in Continuous Improvement activity targeted at all aspects of Alstom performance
2. Support the development of a UK-wide Logistics Strategy that supports our UK-wide project delivery
3. Reviewing our business processes and practices
4. Operate at an appropriate level carrying out designated tasks within the team assigned
A significant amount of training will be provided by the company as part of the supply chain team.
Our Requirements:
1. 3 A Levels or equivalent at Grades A-C
2. 5 (or more) GCSEs at grade 5-9 (A*-C), including Maths, English, and Science.
We will also be looking for candidates to be skilled in MS Office and database, along with having demonstrable organisational and time management skills. Excellent spoken and written English skills are essential, as well as an understanding of the absolute requirement to observe health and safety measures.
Ideally, you will also be logical and an innovative thinker, who is proactive and an enthusiastic self-starter.
