Job Summary The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the finance team with day-to-day payroll management, expense processing, and accounts payable tasks. Based in our London Warren Street office, this role requires meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of financial processes. Working closely with the Finance Director and the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, manage employee expense claims, and oversee supplier payments and credit control. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll, expenses, and accounts payable, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Payroll Management Process monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy in employee records, deductions, and payments. Maintain and update payroll-related records, including holidays, sick leave, and other absences. Expenses Process employee expense claims in line with company policies. Ensure expenses are accurately coded and reimbursed on time. Address any discrepancies in expense reports and maintain records for auditing purposes. Accounts Payable Manage the accounts payable process, including receiving, coding, and processing supplier invoices. Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers. Prepare and execute payments, ensuring that they are made on time. Financial Reporting Support Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and reconciliations. Support the Finance Director/Financial Controller with ad-hoc financial tasks and audits. Administrative Duties Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation. Assist in maintaining the accounting software and ensure proper data entry. Support other team members with various financial tasks as required. Requirements Prior experience in payroll management, accounts payable, and expenses processing. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Proficient in accounting software (knowledge of Sage, Xero, or similar software is a plus). Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Basic understanding of UK payroll legislation and tax laws. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Qualified accountant Previous experience in a law firm or professional services firm is a plus.
