The Role
As the Head of Finance, you'll play a key role in overseeing the company’s financial health while also supporting HR operations. From managing daily financial activities to assisting in strategic decision-making, you’ll ensure the smooth running of essential business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
* Manage daily accounting operations using Xero.
* Reconcile bank accounts, handle journal entries, and manage purchase invoices.
* Oversee credit control, accounts receivable, and employee expenses.
* Assist in preparing monthly P&L reports, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
* Handle VAT returns, transactions, and pension payments.
* Support month-end and year-end financial processes.
Human Resources
* Collaborate with the HR Assistant to support employee welfare programs and training initiatives.
* Assist with recruitment, payroll processing, and record-keeping.
* Liaise with an external HR consultancy for complex matters.
* Support employee relations, including objective-setting and reviews.
What You Bring
Qualifications & Experience
* AAT qualified (or equivalent) with 3+ years in a finance role.
* Strong experience with Xero and payroll processing.
* Understanding of HR processes and financial reporting.
Skills & Competencies
* Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
* Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and problem-solving abilities.
* A sense of humor and a collaborative spirit are essential!
Working Hours & Location
* Full-time role with hybrid working arrangements.
* Ideally based within commuting distance of Northampton and/ or willingness to attend office for meetings.
