Manage a group of patients under the supervision of a trained nurse, providing evidence based care. Work with supervision and as part of a team in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care to children in the hospital setting. Manage time and workload effectively to promote smooth running of the service. Responsible for adherence to Trust policies and procedures. Develop and maintain clinical skills under supervision according to individual objectives and service needs e.g. Special care of the Neonate and High Dependency Care, nasogastric tube feeding, feeding management, oxygen therapy, nasogastric tube feeding, feeding management, oxygen therapy etc in accordance with unit guidelines.Utilise and promote therapeutic play as part of care delivery and child development. Contribute to the development of unit policies and procedures.Report any Safeguarding concerns to the senior nurse immediately Support mothers with breast, artificial and nasogastric tube feeding, in line with Trust Policies and BFI recommendations.
