Annual salary: up to £32,130.00 Acquisition Officer Northwest region - Manchester, Liverpool Full Time, Permanent, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week Salary up to £32,130 per annum plus company car or £4,000 car allowance Mears provides temporary accommodation whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions: Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. At the end of May 2021 Mears had over 19000 service users across the three regions. Mears work in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs. About the Role: As an Acquisition officer on the sign off team, you will be meeting landlords and agents at properties around the Northwest region and carry out initial inspections to confirm suitability for the asylum contract. You will also complete progress checks on the property to ensure works have commenced and provide target delivery dates, then you will attend the sign off appointment to officially sign the property off onto the scheme ensuring property meets all required standards. There will also be admin duties included within this role. Effective liaison and relationship building with landlords, agents, investors and other potential sources of property to maximise the property pipeline. Ensure initial enquiries are accurately collated, distributed and answered. Accurate reporting of existing and new acquisitions. Meet performance outcomes and targets on volume of properties leased and average lease price to satisfy the scheme requirements. Ensure good quality properties are acquired that meet the relevant standards. Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks to ensure accurate property pipeline information is provided to the Head of Acquisitions. Ensure all records and IT data on systems remains updated with accurate information to meet contractual requirements. Undertake ad-hoc projects and provide support and cover for colleagues and teams within Mears Housing Management. Ensure full compliance with Mears’s code of conduct, contractual terms and group policies & procedure Role Criteria: Experience in property sales or lettings Experience in procuring social housing Health & Safety regulations related to rented accommodation Knowledge and understanding of appropriate landlord, tenant, and housing law Knowledge around fire safety in rented accommodation or social housing Excellent written and verbal communicating skills Excellent negotiation and organisational skills Computer literate Full UK driving license.
