Role: Locum Echocardiographer Banding: Band 7 Location: Swansea Hours: Full-time Start Date: ASAP Rate: £50 - £60 per hour Duration: Ongoing About the role: The Clinical Physiology team at Pulse is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Band 7 Echocardiographer to join our dynamic team in Swansea. This is a full-time, ongoing position offering competitive hourly rates. Duties and Responsibilities: As a Band 7 Echocardiographer, you will perform a variety of highly specialised cardiac ultrasound investigations, including adult transthoracic, contrast echocardiograms for left ventricular opacification, bubble study echocardiograms, 3D echocardiograms, and both Dobutamine and exercise stress echocardiograms. You will assist with and potentially perform transoesophageal echocardiograms and grown-up congenital heart echocardiography. You will independently perform and report echocardiograms to British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) standards. Additionally, you will support the provision of seven-day diagnostic services, including some weekend work, and develop and train junior staff, providing supervision and feedback. You will also participate in clinics dedicated to inherited cardiac conditions, transplantation, assist devices, and stress echocardiography. Qualifications and Experience: Essential: BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent. Accredited by the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) or equivalent accreditation (EACVI/ARDMS). Proven experience as an Echocardiographer. Experience in performing echocardiograms. Desirable: Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
