Role Overview:
Nicholas Associates is currently recruiting for a skilled and motivated Project Designer to join a leading engineering company. In this role, you will be responsible for producing assembly and detail drawings of a range of products using Autodesk Inventor. You will collaborate closely with clients to develop project solutions, contribute to engineering design, and ensure that deadlines and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a safe working environment in line with company policies and procedures.
Produce general arrangement (GA), production, and detailed drawings and parts lists for products from both in-house and client-provided information.
Communicate with clients to develop project solutions and GA drawings that meet their needs and project budget.
Assist in the development of engineering designs.
Produce specifications and drawings to enable the contracts, projects, and production teams to perform efficiently.
Contribute to the continuous improvement program to reduce costs and raise quality.
Assist in the development of custom design software and techniques.
Ensure the timely delivery of information to meet client and internal deadlines, advising early of any potential delays.Qualifications Required:
HNC or HND in a recognised engineering discipline.
Knowledge of 3D modelling and drawing software.Desirable Qualifications:
Knowledge of Autodesk Software (Inventor, Vault).
Ability to assist in Project Management.
Familiar with draughting standards such as BS8888.
Knowledge of Sectional/Modular Storage Tanks.Skills & Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years' draughting experience.
Desirable: 4 years' draughting experience and previous experience in a manufacturing/fabrication environment.
Strong organisational and decision-making skills.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong planning and organisational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Engineering software packages (training will be provided).
Innovative thinker with commercial awareness.Personal Qualities:
