Lead Theatre Practitioner The Princess Margaret Hospital 37.5 Hours & Permanent Salary: Up to £53,251.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification) The Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Lead Theatre Practitioner to join their team of staff in the Theatre department. This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Duties of this role include: Lead the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the perioperative pathway, acting as a specialist or functional lead within the team. Ensure that all patient safety checks, including WHO surgical safety processes, are carried out in accordance with hospital policy. Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision for theatre practitioners and support staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, compassion, and accountability. Apply all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to theatre operations, ensuring adherence to professional and regulatory standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical guidelines, infection prevention, and evidence-based practice. Actively mentor and coach junior staff, including students and newly qualified team members. Applicants should meet the following criteria: NMC or HCPC registered practitioner with significant experience in a theatre environment (e.g. scrub, recovery, or anaesthetics). Demonstrated clinical leadership experience and ability to act as a role model to peers. Strong understanding of patient safety protocols, safeguarding, infection control, and clinical governance. Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification [for scrub leads]. ENB 998 and/or mentorship course. Approved / recognised anaesthetic course. ILS. Excellent communication, organisation, and mentoring skills. Commitment to personal development and supporting the development of others.
