Job Duties:
The Design Technology Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons in design technology to students. This includes creating and implementing curriculum, assessing student progress, and providing feedback to support student learning. The teacher will also maintain a positive learning environment and actively participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess a recognised teaching qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). They should have a strong knowledge of design technology curriculum and teaching methods, excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
Education:
A degree in Design Technology or a related field is required. A postgraduate qualification in Education is desirable.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience teaching design technology at the secondary school level, with experience working with students aged 11-16. They should also be familiar with assessment processes and educational standards.
Knowledge and Skills:
The candidate should have a demonstrated knowledge of design technology concepts and practical skills, strong classroom management abilities, and IT proficiency with the ability to integrate technology into teaching. They should also possess effective problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications in relevant areas of design technology education and participation in relevant training or workshops are preferred.
Working Conditions:
This role involves working in a school setting, interacting with students, colleagues, and parents. The teacher may also need to participate in extracurricular activities or events. The position requires adherence to school policies and procedures, as well as maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
