A Fire Service Maintenance Engineer is being sought to join a successful and motivated team. This role focuses on delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) services, including repairing life safety systems and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures and requirements. The engineer will work in a variety of environments across different locations each day. Engineers are trusted to be the face of the business, engaging with clients to provide exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems (BS5839-1), emergency lighting systems, Nurse Call systems, and Access Control in accordance with relevant British Standards.
* Accurately complete engineer service reports.
* Identify and report deficiencies or deviations in systems.
* Maintain emergency lighting systems and other associated equipment, such as fire extinguishers and AOVs.
* Conduct regular van stock checks and coordinate with the Engineering Technical Supervisor and Procurement Department to ensure proper stock levels.
* Prioritize health and safety, identifying potential risks and reporting issues to ensure personal and public safety.
* Aim to complete first-time fixes where possible.
Ideal Candidate:
* A flexible approach to work with a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for additional earnings through weekend work and participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota.
* A full UK driving license.
* Previous experience in fire alarm systems, including knowledge of analogue addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
* FIA training (or equivalent) to BS5839-1 Fundamentals.
* A solid understanding of BS5839, particularly parts one and six.
* A good level of IT literacy.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations within the workplace.
