Job overview
The Fostering Developments Team was set up in 2019 to provide support to new foster carers and social workers in GCC. This role will expand our provision to provide organisational consultancy support to the new residential homes in Gloucestershire, adding a therapeutic aspect to the care of the children and young people.
Main duties of the job
1. Work with the Residential Manager to embed a culture of containment and digestion of the emotional life of the residents and staff.
2. Provide highly specialist clinical leadership regarding ongoing service improvement initiatives.
3. Identify and lead clinical case reviews, routine audits, and evaluate outcome measures.
4. Provide monthly clinical supervision to the child’s support network, including social workers and residential support workers.
5. Deliver the ‘Emotional World of the Child’ training to newly approved Foster Carers and residential home support staff.
6. Contribute to clinical leadership and undertake clinical responsibility for a caseload involving complex needs.
7. Ensure regular attendance at service-wide and other CPD/core competency training.
8. Provide high-quality clinical reasoning and consultation to professionals within children's services.
9. Ensure adherence to local lone working arrangements when delivering interventions.
10. Maintain high-quality clinical record keeping in line with current Trust policies.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Professional Health or Social Care qualification: Clinical Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, RNLD, RMHN, OT, MHSW.
* Current registration with a regulated professional body/organisation: NMC, HCPC, BPS, ACP.
* Evidence of formal post-graduate learning within a relevant CYPS/CAMHS setting.
Length and/or nature of experience
* Specialist clinical skills and competency related to post-qualification clinical experience.
* Extensive post-qualification experience of providing highly specialist interventions within a clinical/therapeutic setting.
* Substantial experience of delivering services in accordance with recognised therapeutic models.
