Milk Education are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspiring and skilled Cover Supervisor to provide support to a School based in Whitley Bay. This is a fantastic oppotunity for an individual to contribute to the success of young peoples lives.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of lessons by supervising and managing classrooms when teaching staff are absent. The role offers great flexibility, as the hours and days can vary depending on the school’s needs, making it ideal for someone seeking part-time or flexible work.
Key Responsibilities: As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
Supervise and support students in the absence of their regular teacher to maintain continuty in students learning
Ensure students are on task, completing assigned work, and maintaining a positive, focused learning environment.
Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans as directed by the abesent teaching staff.
Ensure the work is carried out effectively, adapting where necessary to suit the students’ needs.
Maintain a high standard of behavior, ensuring students follow school rules and remain focused.
Use proactive strategies to address any behavioral issues and encourage a respectful atmosphere for all.
Encourage a respectful, safe, and productive classroom atmosphere.
Monitor and record student attendance, ensuring accuracy.
Report any attendance issues or concerns to the appropriate staff.
Provide support to students requiring additional assistance, ensuring their academic and emotional needs are met.
Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
Provide feedback on students' progress and behavior during cover lessons to the relevant teachers.
Report any incidents, concerns, or behavioral issues to senior staff as required.
Work alongside teaching and support staff to ensure the smooth running of the school day.
Support students with special educational needs as directed by teaching staff.
Key Accountabilities: In this role, you will be accountable for:
Be a consistent and reliable presence in the classroom, ensuring students are focused, engaged, and behave in line with school expectations.
Facilitate students’ academic progress by ensuring they understand and complete tasks effectively, providing support where necessary to boost their confidence.
Communicate effectively with students, encouraging a sense of belonging and well-being.
Collaborate with teachers and the leadership team to support student learning in the absence of the classroom teacher.
Act as a positive role model, promoting respect, empathy, and inclusivity.
Provide pastoral support for students when necessary, helping to create a safe and nurturing school culture.
