Hours of work: Monday-Thursday 08:00-17:15, Friday 08:00-13:00 Benefits: Competitive Salary Bonus twice a year Career progression opportunities Enhanced holiday entitlement additional holidays for length of service Half day Friday Life Assurance Uniform provided Key Responsibilities: Provide the full range of Quantity Surveying duties from project inception through to handover and final account preparation. Cost Management: Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions, reporting to the Line Manager all issues which impact on the commercial delivery of any project Estimating Assistance on tenders: Accurately assist in the estimating of the cost of materials, labour, and equipment for new projects and assist in preparing detailed bids including preparing estimates/cost plans/tender documents and tender reports. Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients. Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks associated with projects and manage accordingly. Reporting: Prepare data and reports to timescales in a format required by line management/clients. Monthly Cost Value reporting including Earned Value, costs to complete, overhead monitoring and control reports. Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols. Essential: 5 years experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction and/or engineering with preferred experience in structural steel. Bachelors degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Proficient in using industry-standard software for cost estimation and project management including BIM / CAD measure, Cost-X, Knowledge of Tekla or other BIM software would be an advantage. Knowledge and working use of various forms of Contract including but not limited to NEC; JCT; CECA Strong analytical and numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
