Role: Business Development Manager - South East
Customers: Builders Merchants
Area: South East - Remote
Salary: £48-52,000 + £12-15,000 Bonus potential, + Car Allowance, up to 10% Pension contribution
Our client is a leading UK manufacturer of Building Products. They currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to maintain and develop their established relationships with both National and independent Builders' Merchants. You will be responsible for revenue in excess of £15 Million.
Responsibilities:
1. Be accountable for creating and/or delivering Joint Business Plans with Specialist Accounts to ensure sustainable value and market share growth.
2. Drive Contact Strategy for Regional Directors/key Influencers of National Account Customers.
3. Engage with all key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the ‘Gold standard’ delivery of all agreed activities.
4. Input into the design and implementation of business development activities to improve distribution, ROS, and the onboarding of new business, in line with business targets.
5. Develop and implement a Regional Strategic Plan that will identify and deliver strategic partnerships with like-minded customers to secure profitable multi-product portfolio sales growth.
6. Take responsibility for the commercial success of the existing customer base as well as the new, at a regional level through proactive engagement, development, and management.
7. Act as the key contact between the company and the territories customer base to exceed customer expectations.
8. Develop and deliver a contact strategy that builds first-class business relationships and increases selling opportunity and capability.
9. Promote and launch new products and initiatives into new and existing markets in line with the company sales expectations.
10. Continually review sales data to support commercial activity whilst embracing emerging technologies to maximize opportunities within the sales cycle.
11. Identify, monitor, and report competitor activity and market trends to maintain market share, leadership, and competitiveness.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Experience in the National/Independent Builders Merchant sector working for a manufacturer.
2. Strong formal and informal presentation skills.
3. Effective written and face-to-face communication skills.
4. Excellent negotiation and account management skills.
5. Effective time management.
6. High levels of business acumen.
7. Experience in financial analytics and insights.
8. Strong entrepreneurial instincts and seeks new ways to drive success within the business framework and strategies.
