Are you eager to help students reach their full potential? Do you have the dedication to provide tailored support to help them thrive in their learning journey? Are you looking to join a highly supportive and welcoming environment?
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and welcoming team at The Hundred of Hoo Academy’s Primary Phase. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with students who have specific learning needs, helping them to reach their full potential in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
In this role, you will provide personalised, 1:1 support to students with a range of Special Educational Needs, tailoring your approach to suit their individual learning styles. You will have the chance to make a significant impact on their academic progress and personal development, while working within a supportive team that is committed to fostering a positive learning experience for all.
Whether you have experience working with SEN pupils or are keen to develop your skills in this area, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact. We are looking for someone who can create meaningful relationships with students, adapt their teaching strategies to meet diverse needs, and ensure that each child receives the focused support they deserve.
Cross-Phase Working: As part of an all-through academy, you’ll have the opportunity to work across both primary and secondary phases, expanding your experience and skills.
Regular, High-Quality CPD: We are committed to your development with a wide range of CPD opportunities to help you grow and enhance your practice.
Opportunities to Develop a Range of Skills: From supporting pupils with their learning to getting involved in extracurricular activities, this role offers diverse responsibilities to help you build a varied and rewarding career in education.
A Friendly, Collaborative Staff Team: Join a passionate and supportive team who value teamwork and mutual growth. Together, we create a positive and nurturing environment for both pupils and staff.
Our successful candidate will have:
* A proactive, flexible attitude with a passion for working with children and the ability to engage them creatively while working as part of a team.
* Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage tasks effectively, prioritise, and maintain calm under pressure.
* Enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment to support both the academic and pastoral needs of students, delivering tasks accurately and on time.
If you’re looking to make a real difference in the lives of our students, providing the personalised support they need to thrive, we’d love to hear from you!
This is a fixed term position that offers an actual salary of £18,336 per annum (£24,404 full-time equivalent), working 32.5 hours per week, term time + 1 week of inset. The working hours will be 8.30am - 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Working with us at The Hundred of Hoo Primary Academy
Do you want to work in a school where staff say, “I feel like we all have a good connection within the workplace and we all work well together.” and “Connecting with people allows you to share ideas, support each other and makes the workplace happier.”
Do you think parents should be able to say, “The school has done everything well and has excelled our hopes and dreams.” and “I think as a school they give a great warmth to pupils and to parents and carers when on site and in all their communication. The school staff are very kind and helpful at all times. I feel the school as a whole is a nice place to be”.
Should the school you work at be recognised nationally as having an area of excellence for behaviour and inclusion?
If this sounds like the type of school you would aspire to work in then The Hundred of Hoo Academy could be the place for you.
The Hundred of Hoo Academy is an all-through school with a Primary phase on its exciting journey growing to two-form entry. With a brand-new eight-classroom extension and existing building which is only 8 years old, 1:1 devices for children from years one to six, exceptional curriculum delivered through the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the opportunity to grow in your career by being part of Leigh Academies Trust, our academy is the perfect place to ensure that children are ‘More than just educated’ and truly make a difference.
Being part of Leigh Academies Trust
As of 1st September 2024, our Trust comprises 33 geographically organised academies (17 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating more than 24,000 students and employing 4,000 talented staff. Currently, 16 of our academies are considered to be “Outstanding” which is 53% of those which have been inspected whilst part of the Trust. The Trust is establishing three ‘clusters’ of academies: LAT Central; LAT West; LAT North. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training organisations, a large teaching school hub and is an accredited apprenticeship provider.
As part of Leigh Academies Trust, you will have ample opportunity to collaborate with your peers both within the academy and across the whole Trust. This is an important part of our vision as we know through experience that we perform better when we work together. You are supported to undertake regular self-development to continue your professional development and hopefully progress further within the organisation.
Our commitment to safeguarding: Leigh Academies Trust and all of our academies are committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils, and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We adopt a fair, robust and consistent recruitment process across all academies and business units which is inline with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates - you can read more about this in our Recruitment Guidance. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check.
Our commitment to equality and diversity: As a Trust, we are passionate about diversity and recognise that as individuals, we all bring something unique to the role regardless of any protected characteristics which is why we treat all of our people equally, without compromise. We are committed to providing equality and fairness throughout our recruitment and employment practices and not discriminating on any grounds.
Based on the quality and quantity of applications received, Leigh Academies Trust reserves the right to close this vacancy sooner than the specified closing date. Applicants will be notified of this where possible. Therefore, early applications are encouraged.
