Role Title: Plant Financial Controller

Part of the plant leadership team, the Senior Plant Controller operates as the Finance Business Partner for Manufacturing Plant Management in their endeavour to achieve operational excellence. Alongside the day-to-day duties, the Senior Plant Controller will also manage the day-to-day activities of the Assistant Plant Controller.
Responsibilities include:
Day to Day:
1. Produce Timely & Accurate Management Information to satisfy group and local deadlines.
2. Weekly Production Cost Analysis - Standard v Actual // Actual v Budget // Actual v Prior Year.
3. Weekly Stock Variance Analysis - Where & Why? What are the Drivers? Identify areas for Improvements & work with stakeholders to close our actions.
4. Weekly PPV Analysis.
5. Headcount Review.
6. Intercompany Transfer Pricing Calculation & Validation.
7. Create new/revised reports to challenge operational activities with a view to pro-actively drive cost savings.
8. Review Trends and Challenge current performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
9. Ensure Master Data Integrity & Vigilance - assist with the identification & resolution of Product Costing and Master Data queries.
10. Business Partnering with Operations, R&D, Commercial & HR, presenting clear financial information to support decision making at all levels.
Cost Accounting:
1. Check material dependent data (BOM, price, product version…) and support Material Key Users to accurately record them.
2. Monitor fixed cost evolution by cost centre and nature of expenses.
3. Raise issues before month closes in PPV/MUV and Inventory valuation and drive relevant functions for resolution.
4. Analyse and ensure accruals are posted in the appropriate month and financial accounts.
5. Secure correct forecasting and booking of exceptional items.
Month End Reporting:
1. Revaluation of Standards - Intercompany & Third Party Prior to close.
2. Month End Deliverables - On Time in Full P&L and Balance Sheet with Analysis, Commentary & Bridges [MoM; V Prior Year & V Budget] to tight deadlines.
3. Full responsibility for P&L entries and analysis.
4. Validation of CLOCO Activities for all 'FP&A sites' including Std Cost Validation, WAC Validation, Stock provisions, Production Order closing, and others as required.
FP&A:
1. Lead the Plant budget and forecasting process and submit timely for consolidation purposes.
2. Provide timely and accurate analysis in product material costs and fixed costs including logistics and tolling.
3. Monitor Capex projects status and spend with project managers.
4. Validate plant savings actions and measurement.
Process Improvement:
1. Provide input & support in the development of new business systems.
2. Identify and help to drive process efficiencies within the finance and controlling areas.
3. Support the FP&A Manager / UK & Ireland CFO in the improvement of Internal Controls and Processes.
Compliance:
1. Hold the Business to the Internal Controls Framework ensuring compliance from self & others.
2. Ensure that plant is compliant with internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations.
3. Prepare & Submit for Review Key Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
4. Assist with Internal, Group and External audits as and when required.
5. Support Stock Takes across the business.
Communication & Organisation:
1. Act as the gatekeeper and ensure communication of plant performance at all levels of organization is accurate, consistent & timely.
2. Communicate proactively to finance and operations leadership on all plant costs matters including actual costs deviations and estimated month end landing point.
3. Provide monthly plant 'Health Check' dashboard to UK & Ireland CFO.
4. Raise and address plant issues as they arise and improve visibility of plant financial status.
Projects:
1. Participate, and as required lead, key projects in UK Manufacturing from an FP&A perspective.
