Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management:
o Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery.
o Lead by example, inspiring staff to deliver high-quality care and education.
o Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager’s absence.
2. Childcare and Education:
o Ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and well-being for all children.
o Develop and implement engaging learning opportunities that meet the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
o Monitor and evaluate children’s progress, providing support and guidance to staff.
3. Team Development:
o Supervise, mentor, and support staff members to achieve their potential.
o Assist in the recruitment, training, and performance management of nursery staff.
o Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
4. Parent and Stakeholder Engagement:
o Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress.
o Handle any queries or concerns with professionalism and care.
5. Compliance and Administration:
o Ensure the nursery meets all regulatory and legislative requirements, including Ofsted standards.
o Maintain accurate records, including staff schedules, children’s attendance, and development plans.
o Assist in budget management and resource planning.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in a childcare setting, with leadership responsibilities.
* Comprehensive understanding of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements.
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
