Morgan Hunt are currently working with a National Regulatory Body in their search for a temporary Intelligence Analyst to utilise the appropriate tools, techniques and systems to provide data, analysis and insight to support the Commission's work (with a particular focus around extremism, terrorism and state threats).
You will gather a range of evidence and intelligence, including conducting open-source research, in order to analyse findings, draw inferences and draft/present reports and briefings.
This will involve completing work relating to quick-time assessments (including supporting casework and responding to intelligence requests), as well as working on longer-term assessments (including developing intelligence reports and briefings on larger issues).
The successful candidate will be experienced Intelligence Analyst, with formal intelligence analysis training and knowledge of the National Intelligence Model and intelligence procedures.
You will have experience working in an intelligence-led organisation and applying a risk-based approach to analysis, and the ability to evaluate complex data and information and translate this into actionable intelligence to inform decision-making.
You will have strong research, analysis and communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex information to a wide range of audiences. Ideally, you will have experience in Data Analysis and PowerBI and/or experience within Counter-Terrorism intelligence.
You will require CTC Clearance to start this position, and will be required to undergo SC Clearance once you have started.
Job Title: Intelligence Analyst
Location: Hybrid (London, Liverpool, Newport - 40% Office Attendance)
Hourly Rate: £23.00 - £26.50 (Umbrella)
Job Type: Temporary (until end of March, with potential extension)
Hours: Full-Time (37 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide data, analysis, and insight to support the Commission's work, using appropriate tools, techniques, and systems
2. Produce, present, and disseminate appropriate and relevant analytical outputs to inform the Commission's tasking and co-ordinating process (including tactical, operational, or strategic decision-making) or for evidential or intelligence purposes
3. Apply problem solving methodologies to support the management of risks to the charity sector and the delivery of an operational response that leads to short, medium and long-term mitigation
4. Undertake assessment of new incoming referrals from other regulators in line with the Risk Operating Model and refer for appropriate follow up action by other teams in Regulatory Services as required
5. Support Regulatory Services casework by responding to intelligence requests through targeted proactive and reactive intelligence and evidence gathering tactics
6. Work collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of Regulatory Services to develop intelligence on specific issues, analyse findings, and draw appropriate inferences.
7. Deliver internal briefings on issues that may present a risk to the charity sector as a result of terrorist and/or extremist activities.
8. Represent the Commission externally and work in partnership with other government departments, regulators, and law enforcement agencies to support and promote effective information sharing, acting as the Single Point of Contact with specific bodies as required.
Person Specification
9. Practical knowledge of the National Intelligence Model and intelligence procedures.
10. Practical knowledge of the Government Security Classifications.
11. Experience of working in an intelligence led organisation, applying a risk-based approach to analysis.
12. Good analytical and judgement skills to evaluate complex information and to support decision making.
13. Experience of turning data and information into actionable intelligence, applying this to inform a response and monitoring action taken
14. Experience in evaluating relevant information and selecting the best conclusion from a range of options
15. Experience of developing intelligence products, using different communication methods to engage confidently with a range of stakeholders.
16. Ability to apply problem solving methodologies, including finding solutions to identify prevention and enforcement opportunities.
17. Skilled in identifying and exploiting new intelligence sources.
18. Ability to plan, prioritise and work collaboratively, corporately, and strategically to achieve demanding targets and deadlines.
19. Ability to share and disseminate information to external partners and explore options for joint working.
20. Understanding of the protocols involved in dealing with intelligence agencies, law enforcement and other public authorities
21. Understanding the role of a modern regulator working in a diverse sector.
22. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
