We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant HRBP to join our growing team in Swindon. The Assistant HRBP will support the people team and HRBP in delivering a proactive, professional, and forward-thinking HR delivery and service to the business.
Please note: This role requires you to have a driving license and access to your own vehicle, as you will support our sister sites in Oxford and Bicester. Happy to discuss this in more detail over the phone.
How will you contribute:
* Delivery of local departmental strategies to address medium to long term issues surrounding employee relations and development. Undertaking planning and project work to support the delivery of strategies, e.g. staff survey results, action plans, wellbeing initiatives, performance management and development.
* Conducting activities to support organisational development, e.g. administer Belbin profiles.
* Help and coach managers plan and deliver the change, e.g. restructures, terms and conditions, consultations. Reviewing and updating working agreements/reissuing contract documentation as needed. Identify any learning interventions for employees or managers to help embed the change/s.
* Management of employee relations casework for business areas; for example, absence (including fit notes, return to works and phased returns), disciplinaries, grievances and capability. To monitor and carry out sickness reviews for employees in conjunction with the Line Manager and assist in reviewing complex sickness absence cases leading to capability assessments
* Reviewing job descriptions with managers, commissioning the Talent Acquisition Team to recruit, and supporting the process as is needed. Participating in interviews and administering tests as appropriate. Preparing of offer documentation, delivering the induction on day 1, and checking physical right to work documentation/qualifications, and working with managers to create new starter development plans. Working with line managers in your business area/s to identify skill gaps and development needs and to consider the recruitment or development needs to fill those gaps.
* Work with managers and supervisors on development plans for new starters, high performers, underperformers, and successors. Developing and keeping succession plans up to date.
* Keeping HR systems up to date and accurate, and interrogating/reviewing data from systems, as required, to inform and create dashboards to inform evidence-based decisions. Provision of HR advice and coaching to business areas to drive performance and compliance with HR policies and legislation, embedding Our Principles leadership behaviors.
* Supporting local, regional, and global HR Projects and initiatives as required.
What will you Bring.
* Proven work experience as an HR advisor, generalist, Assistant BP; or similar role within an operational environment
* Experience and proficiency working with HR Systems
* Previous experience in developing strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
* An affirmed understanding regarding HR best practice and UK employment legislation.
* Experience working across the full employee lifecycle.
* Experience of working with Unions in a Unionised and in a Unionised environment would be advantageous.
* Experience handling employee relations matters.
* Level 3 CIPD + advantageous.
