About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer to join our team on the HS2 project in Twyford. As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of this high-profile infrastructure project, ensuring that all works are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. This is a freelance position with a minimum commitment of six months, operating inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting Out: Accurately set out construction works in accordance with project plans and specifications.
* Site Supervision: Oversee day-to-day site operations, including coordinating subcontractors and ensuring that work is carried out safely and efficiently.
* Health & Safety: Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations on site, conducting regular inspections and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
* Quality Control: Monitor construction work to ensure it meets quality standards, addressing any issues or non-conformances promptly.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and risk assessments.
* Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to the site team, solving any engineering issues that arise.
* Resource Management: Assist in managing materials, equipment, and workforce on site, optimizing resources to meet project deadlines.
* Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on progress and resolve any issues that arise.
Requirements:
* Black CSCS Card: Must have a valid Black CSCS card.
* Experience: Proven experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar role on large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably within the rail or civil engineering sectors.
* Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or construction management.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methodologies, setting out, and health and safety regulations.
* Skills: Excellent technical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Flexibility: Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project demands.
