Pipeline Package Manager (or Lead)
Permanent role - Glasgow or Paris
Our client is a global leader in delivering offshore projects and services for the energy industry. They are recruiting a Pipeline Package Manager (or Lead). Working from their Paris or Glasgow office, reasonable planned overseas travel will be required. Applicants will have demonstrable experience within the subsea pipeline field.
What will you be doing?
The Pipeline Group supports global pipeline projects from the tender to the execute phase, using spoolbases, bundle yards, and rigid pipelay vessels. We combine the capabilities of pipeline production, installation engineering, and vessel management, consolidating expertise and knowledge of pipelay operations and engineering, materials, welding, coating, and lay analysis.
The Package Lead / Manager is part of the delivery team for the tender/project, and the focal point for the Tender / Project Manager. It has responsibility for the completion of the work within the targets of safety, production, resource-hours, schedule, and finance.
Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate the tender review cycle (kick-off meeting, strategy review, management review, and tender hand-over to regional team), coordinating input activities of various disciplines.
2. Manage PG project start-up activities agreeing responsibilities between PG and the Project Team, key dates, and cost budget.
3. Identify any changes up or down from the as-sold position.
4. Identify team disciplines required, allocate and monitor workload ensuring activities are progressed to schedule and budget with all safety and quality measures.
5. Control and report the progress of activities against the agreed budget and schedule.
6. Identify changes, risks, and opportunities and ensure proper management, liaising with appropriate internal/external personnel.
7. Plan and deliver the site and/or vessel mobilisation and operation.
8. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Clients, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Tendering, Commercial, Engineering, SCM, P&O, Spoolbases, and Offshore Managers.
The successful candidate will have:
1. Engineering Degree or established role-relevant experience.
2. Experience of pipelines from within the Energy Industry (for example Fabrication or Engineering).
3. Recognised Project Management training or role-relevant experience is preferred.
4. Input to Tendering processes, ability to agree on battery limits of scope, and identify cost and technical requirements.
5. Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to compile, deliver, and present reports.
6. Build effective collaborative relationships at all levels across a multicultural global environment.
7. The ability to influence to ensure all processes are fully understood and adhered to by participating project members.
8. A proactive, solutions-based approach to communicate constraints that may impact programme or budget.
9. Pro-active planning and organising skills, able to identify and effectively prioritise workload and meet multiple, often competing deadlines.
10. Demonstrable initiative and ownership to deliver workload unsupervised while supporting wider team activities.
11. Proven ability to identify and implement improvements to efficiency and costs.
