* Legal Aid Billing Clerk/Costs Draftsman – Stockport
The successful applicant’s duties will include:
* Processing bills prepared by a costs draftsman/preparing bills
* Billing Legal Aid, Legal Help and private files
* Liaising with counsel and experts regarding disbursements
* Making applications and dealing with the Legal Aid Agency
* Liaising with partners, fee earners and support staff
Skills required:
* Previous legal aid billing experience
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
* Previous use of a legal case management system is preferred
* A good standard of education and strong verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines
* The ability to work on one’s own initiative

* Conveyancing Secretary/Assistant – Bredbury
We are seeking an experienced conveyancing secretary for our busy Bredbury office. This is a full-time position.
The successful applicant’s duties will include:
* Providing secretarial and administrative support to fee earners, managing and maintaining files from opening to archiving
* Handling telephone enquiries, making appointments and taking messages
* Producing letters and legal documents, including court forms and statements
* Dealing with land registry applications and stamp duty returns
* Audio typing
* Copying, scanning and faxing, and other general administration work
Skills required:
* Strong typing skills
* Some conveyancing secretarial experience is preferable
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
* A good standard of education and strong verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines
* Experience of using a case management system is preferable
* The ability to work on one’s own initiative
* The successful applicant will be required to work as part of a team
