Job title: Research Assistant - Synergy \n\nLocation: Oxford, UK\n\nContract: Permanent \n\nSalary: £33,000 per annum \n\nSRG are looking for a Research Assistant to join a Global Pharmaceutical company based in Oxford.\n\nThe successful candidate will be a lab-based individual who will be part of a team responsible for lab support activities including cell sample preparation and plasmid DNA preparation. Reporting into the Synergy Team Leader, the role holder will undertake a wide range of activities, be involved with continuous improvement (CI) activities, and have opportunities for training and development. The role will be pivotal in ensuring high standards of quality and HSE standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities will include:\n\nCell sample preparation, including the loading of samples onto LC and/or MS\nSupporting in vitro labs with cell sample preparation for RT-PCR, qPCR, cDNA preparation\nUndertake CRISPR screening studies.\nPlasmid DNA preparation (Miniprep & maxiprep kits)\nImaging, production and analysis.\nVirus production and transduction\nSOP development\nUse and support of automated equipment and systems.\nAssay optimisation and development.\nResults analysis and data entry into LIMS\nConsumable stock control within labs using Kanban systems and lean practises\nTakes active role in CI and sustainability activities, e.g., Kanban stock levels, 5S, recycling\nTakes active role in general lab housekeeping\nTakes part in cross training activities and provides cover for other members of the team as required (e.g., cell culture/cell banking)\nLiaison with facilities teams to ensure smooth running of the laboratories\nEnsure that all activities adhere to all Client standards (Quality, Safety and Security).\nThe role holder is accountable for ensuring that all activities are delivered demonstrating behaviours and values aligned to Synergy's Code of Conduct and supporting policies, standards, and procedures, including Health and Safety and Environment \n\nCandidate Requirements:\n\nBSc/HND in science, or equivalent experience\n12 months experience with cell culture is essential\nExperience of routine Molecular Biology techniques e.g., plasmid preparation, cell sample preparation, cell transfections\nFamiliarity with working in a laboratory environment\nExperience of working to work instructions and SOPs/Risk Assessments\nGood planning and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail\nAbility to use Microsoft office - e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word\nExperience of using LIMSCarbon60, Lorien & SRG - The Impellam Group STEM Portfolio are acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
