About the Role
As part of the Property Team, you will focus on delivering excellent service and ensuring the safety and welfare of students. Your responsibilities will include managing the reception and facilities help desk, supporting administrative tasks, and assisting the Property Manager with site operations.
You will play an active role in events such as open days, intake days, and departures, as well as providing support to students, visitors, and university staff. This role is key to maintaining high service standards and a positive student living experience.
Responsibilities
* Deliver exceptional customer service through a professional reception and helpdesk, handling queries via email, phone, and in person promptly and helpfully.
* Support key operations including student check-ins/outs, issuing and managing keys, and assisting with open days and viewings.
* Handle administrative tasks such as sorting mail, maintaining records, managing bookings, and ensuring compliance with Health and Safety standards.
* Coordinate with contractors and external visitors, ensuring proper sign-in, permits, and adherence to site procedures.
* Monitor and log reported faults, prioritize their resolution, and collaborate with the Property Team to meet service KPIs.
* Respond to emergencies and complaints professionally, aiming for continuous improvement in service delivery.
* Promote a positive student experience by providing information on travel, events, and tenancy procedures, and fostering community engagement through activities and consultations.
* Remain vigilant about student welfare, reporting concerns promptly to your line manager.
To ensure the smooth operation of Almero Student, you may occasionally be asked to assist with additional tasks relevant to your role, as directed by your line manager. Flexibility and a willingness to support the wider team are key to our success.
Location and Commitments
This is a full-time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract based across our properties in Birmingham. While weekend work is rare, occasional flexibility may be required.
Requirements
* Proven customer service skills, with experience handling diverse queries professionally.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, financial systems, and databases, with strong data management and analysis abilities.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Experience prioritizing workloads and meeting deadlines independently.
* Knowledge of Facilities Management and Health and Safety requirements.
* Team-oriented, adaptable, and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
