We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our lively setting from January 2025.

Pay: From £12.51 per hour
Working hours: 37.5 per week / Term time
The ideal candidate will be dedicated to inclusive education and have a strong understanding of the diverse needs of young children within the Early Years. You should be able to work well with colleagues, families, and external agencies. This role is essential in ensuring that all children, regardless of their abilities, receive a high-quality early year’s education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support for Children:
o Identify and assess the needs of children, collaborating with the team to provide appropriate support.
o Carryout observations and plan appropriate learning activities to further children’s early education.
o Monitor and evaluate the progress of children, adjusting strategies and interventions as necessary.
o Support children to regulate their emotions and their behaviours.
2. Collaboration with Staff and Families:
o Work alongside colleagues to foster inclusive practices throughout the setting.
o Contribute to staff meets and the pre-schools curriculum.
o Build positive relationships with parents and carers, offering regular updates on their child’s progress and next steps.
3. Record Keeping and Documentation:
o Maintain accurate and confidential records for children, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
o Prepare necessary reports and documentation for both internal use and external agencies.
4. Professional Development:
o Engage in training and professional development opportunities to expand knowledge and skills related to child development.
o Stay informed about current legislation, research, and best practices in early years education.
5. Health, Safety, and Welfare:
o Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive physical environment conducive to learning for all children.
o Carry out daily risk assessments of the room to ensure a safe and stimulating environments for all children.
o Implement safeguarding policies and procedures to promote the welfare of every child.
o Effectively manage incidents and accidents, maintaining appropriate records and reporting to the Pre-School Manager.
6. Regulatory Compliance:
o Adhere to all relevant legislation, regulations, and guidelines, including Ofsted requirements.
o Adhere to the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
o Prepare for and actively participate in inspections, ensuring the setting meets or exceeds regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
* A minimum of a Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Education or a related field.
* Understanding of children’s learning and development within the Early Years.
* Basic knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and other relevant legislation.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

* Proactive in problem-solving and able to adapt to the changing needs of the setting.
* Reflective practitioner with a commitment to continuous professional development.
Safeguarding:
* Good working knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
* Good working knowledge of identifying signs of child abuse or neglect.
* Basic Child Protection / Safeguarding training (or willingness to obtain).
* With the potential to train as a designated safeguarding lead for the setting, alongside the manager and deputy.
Additional Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS check.
* Paediatric First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
