Job Purpose
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Officer in the Manchester County hub, to join our team covering the Oldham, Rochdale and Rossendale area. In this role, you will improve, maintain and minimise any risk to our regulatory standards, i.e. the continuous supply of quality water, delivered in a safe and efficient way, focusing on day to day operations within a defined geographical area.
You will also provide front-line technical support to Network, Customer and Leakage teams both in day and out of hours in order to maintain service delivery standards and provide technical support and customer focus to all planned network interventions ensuring no adverse effect on service delivery and regulatory standards and CMeX performance.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for being the first point of escalation for Water Network Technicians when technical issues are encountered covering both in day reactive issues and event escalation. Additionally, you will also:
* Ensure all network interventions are effectively risk assessed with robust contingency plans to minimise service disruption.
* Investigate customer complaints, provide technical support, act as forward incident controller and contribute to post-incident reviews.
* Ensure accurate data reporting, compliance with regulatory commitments and timely escalation of risks.
* Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, including local authorities and emergency services to support network operations.
* Promote best practices, optimise efficiency and support proactive customer engagement to minimise disruption.
