A well-established Architectural & General Metalwork Fabricator based in the Cambridgeshire area just west of Huntingdon is looking to take on a Quantity Surveyor. The company that the Quantity Surveyor will be working for manufactures Steel Structures for the Construction Industry, working on a range of retail, commercial, residential, infrastructure, and utility projects.
The Quantity Surveyor will be working alongside a team of Project Managers and will work independently on a portfolio of steelwork projects. The Surveyor will play a client-facing role, support the growth of the project management team, and deliver projects from feasibility through to completion.
Quantity Surveyor Position Overview
1. Assessing applications from subcontractors
2. Preparing/sorting tender pack information
3. Receiving and comparing quotes for future projects
4. Assessing payment notices
5. Ensuring cost control is maintained on a project basis throughout procurement, delivery, and design, through to final account stage.
6. Monitoring Project Costs
7. Pricing variation
8. Collating Bills of Quantities
9. Collating information for Final Accounts
10. Attending financial meetings
Quantity Surveyor Position Requirements
1. Degree or HNC within a Quantity Surveying or Civil/Structural Engineering Discipline
2. Working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract
3. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Commercial Management works on site
4. Experience working in a commercial role
5. Understanding of steelwork
6. Excellent IT skills - especially Excel and Google Sheets
7. Effective communication skills
8. A full UK driving licence
Quantity Surveyor Position Remuneration
Salary Dependant on experience Circa £50K
21 days holiday + BH
