Job overview
* Full time role
To assist in the process of decommissioning vehicles, equipment, plant & vehicle parts that are no longer required by the Trust. This will be completed following the document “NHS Protect - Security considerations for ambulance decommissioning and disposal SA20C”. Items will be disposed of via Trust approved auction sites or scrap disposal through Trust approved methods, in agreement with the Fleet Commissioning Manager.
To assist in the ordering & processing of medical kit, fitting onto new vehicles. To also assist in the decommissioning of old vehicles and medical kit.
Main duties of the job
* Placing orders for new medical kit
* Processing medical kit ready to go onto new vehicles
* Kitting new vehicles for operational use
* Decommissioning old vehicles and its medical kit
* Documenting processes as required
* Remove all medical equipment from the vehicle, owned by the Trust
* Log all equipment returning to lease companies and remove from the fleet management Jaama computer system

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
In this role you will also:
* Prepare recycled medical equipment (sorting and accounting for) ready for reuse on vehicles
* Install medical kit as per the Trust’s standard load list onto vehicles during the commissioning process
* As part of a team, assist in the delivery of new vehicles and collection of old vehicles from Trust sites and occasionally non-trust sites.

* Know how to use a computer and basic Word & Excel programmes
Driving
* Must hold C1 Driving licence
* Know about the medical equipment used by SECAmb
Please note that the salary range noted on the vacancy is in line with agenda for change (AFC) pay scales. All successful applicants would be placed automatically at the bottom of the banding, unless proven, relevant NHS or equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
