Job summary This is an important and interesting role and you will be the first face our patients and visitors will see when they come to our busy Practice. It's important you have experience greeting customers and providing assistance with queries. We are looking for 2 individuals to cover 39 hours per week which can be split according to individual preferences. Alternatively, 1 full time individual covering 37 hours per week. You would be joining a team of 9 other Patient Services Medical Receptionists, all of whom work part-time to ensure we can cover the hours our patients need us. This vacancy includes a late finish, on one day of the week, to support our delivery of 'Extended Access' appointments. Main duties of the job Responsible for a broad range of tasks throughout the Practice, including greeting and helping patients both on the telephone and face to face. Additionally:: Booking appointments and recalls ensuring sufficient information is recorded. Ensure efficiency of appointment system and monitor flow of patients into consulting and treatment rooms. Ensure that patients without appointments who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non disruptive manner. Respond to queries and requests for assistance from patients and visitors. Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, accept payments and issue receipts. Explain practice arrangements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover. Ensure that new patient registration forms are correctly completed and are supported by all the necessary paperwork. Register the new patient on the system as quickly as possible Ensure that temporary resident forms are completed accurately and registration details entered onto the computer immediately where possible. Ensure that Workflow and Tasks are dealt with accurately, appropriately and as quickly as possible. Action requests for ambulance transportation, record the details as appropriate or direct patients to the correct organisation. Pass on information regarding unresolved or urgent problems at the end of each shift.
