Jak is partnering with a renowned office design and build company that is seeking a talented and dynamic midweight Technical Designer to join their expert team. Our client is known for pushing the boundaries of design and transforming spaces into inspiring hubs of productivity. General Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the development of comprehensive technical and construction packages for commercial workspaces, primarily from Stages 4 and beyond.
* Provide technical insights during the concept stage to ensure a smooth transition to detailed design.
* Collaborate with interior designers to create work environments that align with national and local building codes and foster productivity.
* Maintain open communication with clients and design teams to understand project requirements.
* Contribute to innovative design ideas through material and concept research, considering budget constraints, materials, risks, and labor for project success.
* Assist in coordinating tasks, adhering to timelines, and conducting on-site observations to facilitate construction processes.
* Participate in client presentations during construction, offering suggestions for furniture and finishes within budget constraints.
* Stay updated with the latest design trends and regulations.
* Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to ensure project success.
* Contribute to procurement efforts and minimize rework for improved efficiency.
* Balance technical aspects while preserving design intent.
* Involved in tasks such as space planning, M&E concepts, lighting, finishes, etc.
* Collaborate with sub-contractor consultants to align with design intent and cost considerations.
Skills / Experience Required:
* Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
* 2+ years of experience in commercial office interiors is essential.
* Proficiency in Revit.
* Familiarity with technical detailing, regulations, and standards.
* Capable of contributing to technical packages and reviewing drawings.
* Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines while maintaining quality.
* Skilled at multitasking across multiple projects.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a creative mindset for on-site challenges.
* Understanding of collaborating with other specialties like M&E and joinery.
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and ambitious.
* Positive can-do attitude and a team player.
