Discover more at www.clarksons.com/port-services Role Summary As Accounts Assistant, you will be a member of our established UK accounting team, focusing primarily on cash books, customer invoicing and credit control support in accordance with Company procedures. What you’ll be doing Daily reconciliation and processing of all bank transactions. Accurate allocation of customer receipts and supplier payments. Checking of draft bills raised by the Disbursement Clerk and subsequent issue of final invoice. Dealing with customer requests and queries. Raising customer credit notes and reinvoicing as necessary. Completion of any registration procedures required by customers to onboard Clarkson Port Services as a supplier. Arranging payment for any customer refunds due. Processing & reconciliation of all company credit card transactions. Cover Disbursement Clerk duties when necessary. Cover billing on Shortsea activity where necessary. Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business. Other requirements Experience of working within an accounting function preferable. Strong IT skills in MS office packages (Excel and Outlook). Knowledge of Sage 200 and Foxit PDF Editor would be an advantage. A high degree of both numeracy and accuracy and an eye for detail. Organised and able to prioritise own workload in order to meet tight deadlines. Self-confident with good communication skills (both written and verbal). Desire to learn, develop and contribute to the wider team goals.
