Payroll Officer About the Organisation: A rapidly growing organisation with multiple locations across the UK and Ireland, currently undergoing a significant HR system implementation. As part of this growth, additional support is needed within the payroll function to ensure smooth transitions and improvements. Role Overview: Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Officer will support payroll operations during system transitions and process enhancements. This role involves managing payroll administration across multiple sites, ensuring accuracy and compliance while assisting in the implementation of a more efficient payroll and HR system. This is a six-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension. The role offers a hybrid working model (three days in the office, two days remote). Key Responsibilities: Assisting with payroll system implementation and process improvements. Preparing data for monthly payroll processing. Managing multiple payrolls with minimal supervision. Ensuring payroll compliance and accuracy. Using payroll software (training provided if necessary) for end-to-end payroll processing. Liaising with managers to resolve queries before payroll submission. Processing starters, leavers, and payroll-related documentation. Managing statutory leave, unpaid leave, and extra hours accurately. Conducting post-payroll checks to identify and correct errors. Preparing bulk payment lists for salary disbursement. Handling payroll queries promptly. Supporting finance teams with reporting, including journal entries. Updating and maintaining HR system records. Key Skills & Experience: Experience in payroll implementation and compliance. Strong knowledge of payroll processing and HR systems. Ability to manage bank payments efficiently. Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs. Proficiency in MS Office applications. Personal Attributes: Highly organised with the ability to multitask. Strong attention to detail to ensure payroll accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Adaptability and flexibility to meet payroll deadlines and support process improvements.
