Job summary The Cancer Clinical Trials Unit at UCH is looking to recruit a Senior Research Nurses/Clinical Trials Practitioner - Team Leader for 12-month maternity leave cover in Oncology and Complex Pathways. The post holder will take responsibility for the co-ordination and management of a clinical research portfolio comprising in-house, national and international phase II and III clinical trials in oncology. They will also line manage a number of staff and provide leadership and support to the team as a whole. You will be part of an expanding and dynamic clinical team helping research staff to deliver excellent care to adults with cancer. The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of clinical trials as well as education of patients and colleagues, coordination of care of patients on trials, collection and preparation of biological samples, collection of trial data, the monitoring of the expected and unexpected side effects of drugs and other treatment modalities. The Complex Pathways post will lead the Phase II Basket Studies team, covering numerous cancer types. The ideal candidate will therefore have significant clinical experience to confidently manage the care of complex patients across many different disease areas.
