Job Overview
The post holder will provide strong leadership and a highly visible presence across the directorate, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and communication. They will play a key role in enhancing the patient experience by driving service efficiency, maintaining high standards of safety, and upholding best practices in infection prevention and control.
Working collaboratively with the Operations Manager and Head of Nursing, the post holder will contribute to service development, workforce leadership, and the achievement of key performance targets, including inpatient and outpatient waiting list management. They will also be responsible for the effective use of resources, staff development, and deputising for the operational team when required.
Main duties of the job
1. To support the operations manager in developing service development plans / business plans to align national direction/strategies and local priorities.
2. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that resources are used effectively and efficiently and work with the staff, leading and coaching them to maximise their potential in support of their future career options.
3. The post holder in conjunction with the operations manager and head of nursing will ensure that patient safety is maintained to the highest level.
4. The post holder will deputise for the operations manager as required.
5. Support the delivery of access targets within the service through effective management of consultant leave and capacity & demand management in line with the Trust consultant leave policy.
6. To track budgets of agreed delegated responsibility to enable monthly variance reporting.
